 Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, is celebrated in a grand manner in BHU. The hostels are decorated beautifully and the traditional event of dahi handi organised in some hostels.

Saraswati Pooja

Saraswati Pooja, celebrated during February, also happens to be the foundation day of Banaras Hindu University. There is a grand procession in which jhankis of all the faculties are displayed. The traditional pooja is also organised in the hostels.
